Anyone else have the issue of sometimes just losing your energy to get something to table and play??
I'm in that phase now. Not sure I care for it to be honest. 🤣 I'm really anxious to play.
However, with our recent move, getting back to work after 4-months of COVID shutdown I've found this week I simply don't have the energy or brainpower. The desire to play is definitely there. But when it comes to deciding what to play, even when I technically have the time, it just wasn't happening this week. 😕
Anyone else get that sometimes?
I really hope I get a rythym going again soon where I can get all kinds of games to the table. Gaming is my "Zen" as my wife says. It's how I wind down after a long day.
I want that back. 🤗
Yeah, Derek, I fall into a 'funk' now and then, and find it difficult to get motivated to table a game, especially if I have to learn how to play it.
You'll get back in the groove (if you haven't already). Hey, you're the Bargain Ninja, and as a Ninja, Zen is a key component to your way of life. I'm sure you'll prevail and return to Zenness!
I've been struggling to find time to dedicate to our website and gaming since I started the new job. I just work and sleep on most days. 😒 Thankfully they gave me the weekend off, so I hope to play some Jaws of the Lion tomorrow...
In these moments (they don't come really often though as I have seldom the opportunity to even think about playing a bigger game), I like to focus on a smaller game, that I have developed an intimacy with, so I can play without any rules questions, without having to learn how to do stuff, etc.
These days I have a heavy load of work so I have only been playing a bit of Tajemnicze Podziemia, something very casual, but at least it brings the joy to get a board game out of the shelf and enjoy it for a short time.
Oh yes. Often enough. Don't feel bad about it, it will come again.
One of my shelves was close to breaking down. So I temporarily had to reorganize some stuff. I put games that are very easy to get to the table because I know the rules by heart (Friday, Shadowrun Crossfire, some Uwe games) in a moving box and put it near the gaming table. Then I put the games from the shelf that needs fixing on the open spaces they left. I think this may be a good way for me to organize my games.
By mental "weight", I mean. Not by leaving them in moving boxes.
