The all important moment of truth last night; Would Scythe fit on the table in my gaming room??
I opted for a pre-dinner test....
The result:
After setting it up, there's actually a couple minor adjustments I could make if I wanted. In addition, I think I can also get 3-Automa comfortably on that table as well. Amazing!
The post-dinner setup:
Base game only. Playing vs 2-Automa. Random shuffle draw for faction mats and my player mat. Woo!!!
It's been a while (I feel shame every time I say that). But damn it felt good to get this beauty out again. 😊 The game started well. Things were going quite smooth really.
As you can see, that wasn't the case for the Automa Nordic faction after a while. Despite spreading out quite well, Saxony moved in somewhat quickly and kept them to a corner for a while.
Unfortunately, my decisions as the map got tighter became less impressive as the game went on. I knew I was in trouble. I did win a couple battles (by an incredibly narrow margin), but in the end I wasn't making good choices.
That's what I've always loved about Scythe. If I don't play at the table often, my decision making skills to snag a win decline greatly. 🙄
In the end, my 109th play (at the table) was a very dissapointing performance...And I loved every minute of it!!! 😁
Shit, it looks as if that table was made for Scythe. Excellent!
