I was enjoying my morning porch coffee and scrolling through the BGG site, and I came across a review/solo-playthrough from Liz Davidson of Beyond Solitaire, of Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood of Venice.
My video game hobby has very much slowed down in the past year and a half thanks to tabletop gaming. I also am very much a fan of retro games (well from the PS3/WiiU and backward). I'm not an online gamer, and I can't stand updates and the constant "bigger and better" side of the business, vs building a huge library of games like the best systems used to do (Super Nintendo and PS2).
Sorry, I'm ranting... 🤣
Having said that, I am a huge fan of the Assassin's Creed series of games! Although I'll never have more since I refuse to purchase new systems (and that money needs to go to my tabletop hobby), I have all the Assassin's Creed games in the PS3 lineup. So when I saw that there is a tabletop version of this franchise... OMG!!!!!!
From a quick glance there's many things that made me IMMEDIATELY put this on my wishlist, aside from it being solo-able:
-Co-op gameplay
-Modular board
-Campaign missions
-Tons of minis
And....
It's Assassin's Creed! Whoa!
Unfortunately, I feel like this one may not be easy to come by. I feel this is a niche market type game. And when I went to their website directly, it's not leading me to the actual purchase screen of the game itself... Strange.
In the meantime, I'll be keeping my eyes open...
aware of my surroundings...
like an assassin.
Liz's Beyond Solitaire Website is plain looking, but seems to have a fair amount of content. She supplied a lot of Solo Gaming Links, but I will remain loyal to Solitaire Times! 🙂
