It's been somewhat quiet on the solo gaming lately. Lots to do, lots on the mind... There's still been some gaming though thankfully, just not quite as much as a year or two ago. A little more realistic levels maybe? Whatever that is. 😂
This past weekend, I finally got a dedicated gaming space - temporarily anyway. My oldest daughter moved in with her boyfriend for the "next step" (we're happy for them and they're fortunate to be able to do it in a realistic way - which is rare in this STUPID real estate market!). This change means more space in our temporary home as well. A win-win for everyone. I wasn't however, expecting to get a games room out of it... but I didn't argue AT ALL. 😁
I shouldn't say JUST gaming. MOSTLY gaming though. We'll use it for art, puzzles etc as well. My solo gaming will be the biggest happening though let me tell ya!
MOST of my games will be playable solo, on my table in there. Some of the bigger ones will still need the kitchen table most likely (or some creativity in setup on my part). I'll explore that as it happens. 😎
A very tough decision was made the other night though; What game gets to the table first??
I decided to get Everdell out as the inaugaural solo game in the new space, and it was perfect for the table. My city and Rugwort's city had no issues at all fitting on the table comfortably. "Rugwort the Rascal" got me by 2 VPs in the end.
I've really enjoyed the space already. It's nice and cozy, and private. If I really want privacy I can shut the door. I've never been able to do that in my gaming space, since it's usually on the kitchen table for the most part. This is going to be great!
Last night I decided to test out my pillaging and plundering skills on the table with Raiders of the North Sea. It was another close game too! I had a personal best 92 VPs!! Unfortunately the A.I. also had a personal best at 97 VPs. 😏
Tonight could be the night Scythe hits the table in the new space to see how it works out setup wise. 🤗
Congratulations! Do bring Scythe to the table.
Damn, that's a sweet set-up, Derek. 😍 Congratulations on your new Game Room!
