I did something yesterday. I broke down and purchased the digital version of Tainted Grail: The fall of Avalon on Steam. It was 50% off ($11 CDN).
Of course, like most of us, I prefer to have games at my table. This game however, is a massive $198 CDN investment. So I figured spending $11 may be an easier conversation to have with my beautiful, loving wife than the $198 one. 😂
I have to say though, playing it last night, I really enjoy it. It would be pretty awesome to have on my shelf and to bring to the table. I think this was a smart move though. If I can find it on GeekMarket or elsewhere for much less, I'll snag it up in a heartbeat. But if not, at least I can enjoy it to some extent via the digital adaptation. Not to mention, I have some games higher on my wishlist that are in the $120-$150 CDN range, so this will allow me to target them still anyway. 🤣
Regardless, I'm very pleased with Tainted Grail.
I just discovered Tainted Grail: Conquest is available on Xbox! It’s $20.00 which is still a far cry from the actual board game cost, but provides some much needed accessibility.
That is awesome. I wanted to try it since I saw it on Steam a while back, but then realized my computer is not new enough to handle it :(. It’s about 11 years old with an outdated graphic‘s card. I hope you enjoy it more than Athena did 😝!
Ha, I saw this sale! I almost* got it myself, but truth is, I no longer find time to play any of my beloved video games (also, Steam is broken on my computer).
Well, almost, not quite. I usually wait for a 75% discount on Steam before purchasing anything. A few exceptions exist (e.g. I have bought all Kingdom Rush on release day, and I will buy Hollow Knight 2 as soon as it becomes available).
