Yesterday was a good day at the table. First I started with Tapestry. I drew the Nomad civilization. I've definitely learned in my first handful of plays, that playing to the strength of your civilization is a good idea. Who woulda thought!? 🤔
I came out with my first win against the Level 1 Automa; 191-138. Having said that, I'm still iffy on one of my VP scoring during the income phase. So I need to look into that this morning. Having said that, I'm 98.57% confident I still would have pulled out my first win. 😉
Then, after building my civilization and world, it made sense to attempt to save the world again. Under Falling Skies was back to the table. Game 1, defending New York, I lost on damage to my city. But in game 2 I went back with Roswell and... I DID IT!!!!! I WON!
It (only) took 8 games for me to get out of my head that shooting down the aliens is NOT going to win you the game. It makes sense right?? If an alien species was attacking Earth with their advanced technologies, we'd have to quickly research more advanced means of defense to beat them. Shooting them down would only be a temporary solution, as the game proves. Once I had that (finally) out of my head, I was able to utilize my fighter jets as a means of control while researching the hell out of ... stuff.
WOO HOO!!!!! Move over Will Smith. I got this.
"Welcome to Earth!" 😄
Great Job! The difficulty level is easy to customize so you can tailor it to your preference. I like how the game comes with a hefty campaign as well.
